Week 10 College Football Rankings: Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech Rise in Top 25 After Week 9
Week 9 of the college football season delivered a few marquee matchups, including Texas A&M versus LSU Missouri versus Vanderbilt and Ole Miss versus Oklahoma. As with the rest of the slate this week, the best college football teams in 2025 showed why they are rated so highly heading into November.
No. 9 Vanderbilt earned its highest ranking in 88 years after putting away then-No. 15 Missouri, 17-10. The Commodores’ third win over a ranked opponent this season set a new program record and propelled them into the top 10.
The top six college football teams in the AP Top 25 remained unchanged this week, but not all was quiet in the rankings: The Big 12 has five teams in the poll for the first time this season, Vanderbilt earned its highest ranking in 88 years and LSU dropped out.
The SEC has 2 matchups in Week 10 involving ranked teams, as Vanderbilt takes on Texas (noon ET, ABC) in Austin and Oklahoma plays at Tennessee (7:30 pm ET, ABC). Among the other ranked teams in action in Week 10 are Georgia, which plays Florida in Jacksonville (3:30 pm ET, ABC) and Ole Miss, which hosts South Carolina (7 pm ET, ESPN).
